Oh man was tonight an indulgent night! I’m pretty sure that I’m going to fall into a sugar-induced coma any minute now, but it was so worth it.
Before my dessert extravaganza, I did have some healthy food!
Lunch
I needed a little break from my intense library morning so I hit the gym for a bit. I was starving afterward and made my usual jumbo, colorful salad along with some pita chips.
Snack
After lunch I took a much needed nap that I have been looking forward to for days. I actually think it might have made things worse though because I woke up even groggier than I had been before! I needed some crunch to keep me awake so I had some baby carrots and cucumber.
Dessert
We had a sorority event tonight at Finale, which is well known in Boston for its desserts. We had to leave the house at 6 and I was rushing to get ready and didn’t have time or hunger for dinner. I know that I probably should have had something, but there was definitely part of me that wanted to just save my calories for the dessert buffet!!!!! Umm, talk about dangerous territory. Buffets are always a weakness of mine because I always want to try a little bit of everything. And as we all know, desserts and sweets are my weakness. Put the 2 together and we have quite the gluttonous situation.
Here is the first (and only photographed) of many desserts tried tonight:
I definitely overdid it but honestly, how many times am I going to be able to have as much free Finale dessert as I can? Umm, probably never.
It was such a great night and I had so much fun but also really emotional. We all went around and talked about our favorite memories and how much everyone means to us and everyone was getting pretty choked up. As much as I seriously cannot wait to graduate because I don’t like my school much at all; my sorority has always been the only good part of my experience here and I love these girls so much.
What I don’t love is the fact that I had to forgo Frozen Sangria tonight so that I could come home and go to bed work on my paper. Hope your weekend is off to a great start!
OOOH those desserts look delicious! Looks like your weekend is off to a great start!!
I love that salad! What happens to be those twig-like things? Noodles?
Yum, those desserts look great and I am glad you enjoyed yourself and had fun with friends. Nothing is better than dessert with friends. Graduations always seem to be so bittersweet like you’re saying, but hopefully you’ll stay in touch with the ones you care about!
Hope you have a good weekend and get through all your work!
