Things I Love

Happy Monday! I have the day off for MLK and I hope you do too!

Unfortunately at school I’m not too often in a chipper, upbeat, and positive mood (as you can tell if you compare my posts at home vs at school) but today I’m feeling really content and happy so I thought I would get a good post up before that feeling goes away—but I’m really going to work hard to see that it doesn’t. I’m feeling really chatty so feel free to skim (or skip) this post if you’re more of a picture person than a words one!

Here’s a little list of things I love that have put me in such a good mood today:

1. THE STEELERS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!! I seriously love football—my whole family does and we’re always gathered around watching whatever games are on and have a lot of fun with it. I was definitely sad and homesick yesterday because none of my friends like football at all and I didn’t have anyone to watch the first game with and since I don’t have a TV I ended up listening to it on the radio which was really depressing. For the Steelers game though, a bunch of us were just hanging out and chatting so I asked to turn it on in the background and had my own little party. It wasn’t the same as at home but at least we won! Oh, and Mom—I perfected the slow clap and “nice” shout in your honor ; )

2. Endorphins–I just had THE BEST workout at the gym today. I don’t know what it was but I just felt so great, I was really enjoying myself and felt really powerful and strong. Endorphins really do make you happy! Ever since I’ve been fueling my body better my workouts have improved so much, I used to always feel so weak and tired and it was a struggle and not enjoyable at all. Now I feel great and always leave the gym with more energy than when I entered.

3. HEAT WAVE—haha, totally not. But really the 30* weather feels like summer compared to the below zero temps. we had earlier this week. I was actually able to breathe outside without my lungs stinging, yay!

4. My friends at school—I’m really glad that I’ve been making more of an effort to be more social because I’m having so much fun just hanging out with my friends. We haven’t really been doing anything special, but just spending time with them has really improved my mood.

5. YOU GUYS! Seriously, I love this blogging community and it makes me so happy whenever I see a new comment or email. Each one means so much to me and I have loved getting to know all of you. I think we need a big bloggie reunion sometime (Europe, anyone? haha) Or you can all come to Boston and play in the snow because we have more than enough to go around right now!

6. Coffee–I am officially addicted to coffee. I hadn’t had any since Thursday!! because it was just so cold to go out to buy a cup, and I didn’t think I really needed the caffeine because I didn’t have much going on. Well, let’s just say it was a rough few days. I had a constant headache and slight narcolepsy, hehe. I think it’s both a physical and mental addiction. I guess my body is dependent on the caffeine but my mind needs it too. I just adore everything about coffee—the taste, the smell, the warmth, mmmm. Well on my way back from the gym I bought a cup and as soon as I took a sip I was in heaven. It was like the best thing I had ever tasted. To be honest, I think this is the main reason for my good mood!

I wasn’t hungry at all this morning (probably due to all that ice cream last night!) So I kept it simple with a kashi bar and apple before I hit the gym. I’ve had this bar for a really long time and it sort of tasted stale. I need to do a better job at eating what I eat new stuff, but I just get so excited when I see a new flavor bar that I want to try it out and my old ones just sit there unloved.

Well I think that’s enough chit chat for now—see you later!
