Retired from Retail

Today was *hopefully* my last day ever of working retail! Hooray!

Breakfast

I got up this morning, exercised, and made a delicious waffle tower. Mmmm. I live for these.

Lunch

I had some leftover lentil chowder, multigrain bread, and apple. The soup was even better today than last night!

Dinner

I had to work the closing shift at work tonight which made for an early dinner. I had some amazing multigrain sushi. This stuff was seriously awesome–the rice was sooo much better than the regular sushi rice, I loved it! This was really filling and held me over well throughout my last day of work.

Since I knew I wouldn’t be getting home until late I had a mini-dessert after dinner just to make sure that I wouldn’t get hungry at work. I had my favorite: fruit and whipped cream.

Dessert

I hate closing at work because I am so not a night person. I like to get up early and am most productive in the morning and afternoon. After dinner all I want to do is relax and unwind—not run around at work for hours. Blah. But I survived and when I finally got home I made a great dessert: pudding sundae complete with strawberry, graham sticks, whipped cream, and a chocolate ball. So good!

I can’t wait for tomorrow because we are going to my all time favorite restaurant: Mallorca. Seriously this place is the best. We go here for every birthday, holiday, and celebration. It’s without a doubt what my ‘ideal last meal’ would be. It’s an authentic Spanish restaurant with amazing food and huge portions. I studied abroad in Spain for a semester and nothing even came close to this food. I can’t wait!!!!

Phew, I’m exhausted now. I’m going to go finish watching the football game and maybe read a little bit—I picked up a new book The Yiddish Policemen’s Union from the library today and I can’t wait to start it!

Goodnight!

Congrats on the last day of work in retail! I did it all throughout high school and it felt SO GOOD to be done with it! (I still can’t stand listening to “lite music” radio stations!

Miss Queen of Waffle Towers, you are such a breakfast inspiration 😉

I completely agree about multigrain rice sushi. I’ve only had it once or twice (I can never find it!) but it has so much more flavour and is just better all around. I’ll have to consider asking about it next time I go to a sushi restaurant! I’m too chicken to do things like that though haha.

    WOOhoo for no more retail!
