One Week!

One week until my favorite day of the year—THANKSGIVING! I can’t wait to go home and see my family and sleep in my comfy bed and relax. Too bad finals start really shortly after I get back so I’ll have school work to do over break. Yuck.

Lunch

I had some carrots as soon as I walked in the door after class at 1:30. I was starvingΒ and needed something before I could get started on lunch.

Luckily lunch came together quickly. I had my usual pre-yoga meal: Ezekial, pb, laughing cow and cottage cheese.

Yoga was great today. Here at school I am in “Advanced Power Yoga” which is a vigorous flow class that incorporates a lot of moves from the primary series of Ashtanga. A few classes every semester the instructor leads us through the actual Ashtanga practice which is my absolute favorite! I love how there is a mix of all different postures because I really feel like my entire body gets an amazing stretch and workout. Also I love all the sun salutations and vinyasas because I feel so strong and energized, and definitely keep my heart rate up. It was a great class.

Snack

I tried out a new bar today for a snack. Balance cookie dough. Cookie dough is probably my absolute favorite food/flavor on earth so I had high hopes for this. I really liked the texture and flavor at first, but it had a really weird aftertaste that I was not a fan of. It definitely had that fake protein bar taste to it, which is what this bar is so I guess that makes sense!

Later on I had an apple while reading.

Dinner

Tuna melt and salad. Quick and easy. I love these sandwich thins!

Dessert

Trail mix (I definitely went back for more–this stuff is addicting!!)Β and yogurt.

I should go get some more research done for my big, scary paper that’s due at the end of the semester—then it’s off to bed semi-early. I have another super busy day tomorrow so I need my rest!

So glad you are looking forward to the holidays! I am too πŸ™‚

That lunch looks soo good by the way…pb, laughing cow, cottage cheese–three of my favorite non-meat proteins!!

Try the Balance Pure bars, I’ve tried the Chocolate Cashew twice now, and I LOVE it, tastes like a brownie, and I just bought the Cherry Pecan flavor yesterday. They are pretty similar to Larabars in texture, a lot less protein-y.

Good luck with school tomorrow, it’s Friday!! πŸ™‚

Your blog is so great! I was in a sorority too! I just graduated and I miss it! I lived in the house for one year, so I totally get your gripes about drama, junk food, silly elections! haha I met so many true, great friends though, and I think it adds so much to the college experience. Good luck, I’m going to add you!

Tuna melts are one of my favorite things to eat. Hmm… don’t know why I haven’t made one in a while. I need to get some of those sandwich thins!

I am SO looking forward to Thanksgiving as well. I love all the different stuffings, potato varieties, desserts… I could go on and on!
